How much is this (doll or bear) worth?

Since we don't deal directly in the secondary market, we don't have the expertise you need for a valid appraisal. But we do have some ideas:

True appraisals, or even best guesses, are rarely done sight unseen. Your best bets include perusing the collectors magazines and doll shops that specialize in older items local to your area for recommendations for appraisers that you can take your doll or bear to for a hands-on, qualified, appraisal.

eBay has become a particularly valuable resource for getting a sense of the market value of a particular item. Be sure to check completed auctions to see what items actually sold for, and bear in mind that the condition of an item can make a dramatic difference in its value.

One other recommendation is that a search for "doll collecting", "bear collecting" or "teddy bears" at Amazon.com turns up several price guides and other informative titles available for purchase. Many of those same titles may be available at a local library.
